No one has been shot or arrested following a report of shots fired at or near Pearce-Ford Tower, said Bob Skipper, director of media relations.

One person was injured in a fight. He was taken in an ambulance, he said.

"At this point we have no confirmation of weapon," he said. "At this point it's just been a fight."

The injured person received a broken arm while trying to break up the fight, according to Robbin Taylor, vice president for public affairs.

A person was taken from Western to the Medical Center with an injury, but not a gunshot. Medical Center officials don't know if the injury was related to the incident.

Officials sent an e-mail at 12:52 saying that that was a report of shots being fired at or around PFT.

Police confirmed that there was a physical fight not involving weapons, according to a Western press release. Police are investigating to determine whether weapons were present

Police are interviewing witness at both locations, Skipper said.

Police have detained someone for questioning, according to Bowling Green Police.

South Campus has been released, he said.

Main campus isn't on lockdown, but classes have been cancelled for the rest of the day, he said.

Officials plan to host a press conference at 4 p.m., Taylor said.

Officials will send out a press release later, Skipper said.

Officers responded to a call at South Campus at about 12:15, according to a Kentucky State Police officer.

There were four subjects with weapons, the officer said.

South campus was evacuated and police began conducting a room-by-room search, the officer said.

No shots have been fired at South Campus, said Barry Pruitt public information officer for campus police.

Campus police are leading the investigation and will later release information.

All Bowling Green schools on lockdown.

Officials sent a text message saying that armed men had been reported on South Campus at 12:30.

The text asked students to stay clear of the area.

An emergency management system announcement told students that there was immediate danger and to seek shelter at 12:44.

Western officials sent an email at 12:47 saying that there had been an incident on South Campus involving guns.

Emergency responders from the Bowling Green Medical Center are parked at the Downing University Center because it's a safe location. They said there has been no crisis response there.

Just so you all know, you're reporting of this is lightyears beyond the national news. Fox just reported that since PFT isn't on the map, it must be a part of the "Bowling Green Community Junior College"

Correction: The shooting was at the south end of the main campus, specifically PFT, not the South Campus/Carroll Knicely Convention Center. This is causing enormous confusion on this end of town. (Continued…)

I think if we are subscribers of this newspaper we should be notified of incidents/shootings on campus. I am also a parent of a student and I surely think this would be good information to have. (Continued…)
